March 27, 2014 Fire in Seabrook, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, State Police Colonel Robert L. Quinn, State Fire Marshal J. William Degnan, and Seabrook Police Chief Lee Bitomske, report that additional information is available regarding a fire that occurred in Seabrook, New Hampshire yesterday.

On Thursday, March 27, 2014, shortly after 10 a.m., Seabrook fire fighters responded to 50 B Street in Seabrook. Once there, they worked to bring a fire under control in a mobile home at that location. During that process, they discovered the body of an adult inside a bedroom in the home.

Information was initially conflicting as to the number of people who lived in the home. Eventually, authorities determined that it is most likely that two adult men had been living there. One of the men was found alive at the scene of the fire. The other resident is unaccounted-for and appears to be the deceased person who was found in the home.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the deceased today and has identified him. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin. The exact cause and manner of the deceased person's death is undetermined at this time.

The investigation into the fire and the discovery of the deceased person in the mobile home is ongoing. As of now, the fire investigators have found no indication that this was an intentionally set fire.

No further news releases are expected until next week.
