Additional Developments in Officer-involved Shooting Incident in Rochester, New Hampshire
The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office and the New Hampshire State Police report additional developments in an officeriinvolved shooting investigation occurring in Rochester yesterday, on Monday, March 10, 2014.
The incident began when three Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Officers and a Strafford County Deputy Sheriff went to arrest a male subject at 28 Periwinkle Drive in Rochester. That subject has been identified as Ben Shannon, age 35, of Rochester. Shannon was treated for a gunshot wound and eventually flown to the Maine Medical Center in Portland. Mr. Shannon died last night.
An autopsy will be conducted today in Augusta, Maine by the Maine State Medical Examiner's Office since Mr. Shannon died in Maine.
The investigation is ongoing.
