The Consortium is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization that brings together professionals from institutions of public and private postsecondary education as well as community partners to discuss a common concern about issues of sexual and interpersonal violence that affect the lives of students and employees of New Hampshire institutions of higher education. The mission of the Consortium is to provide a forum where post-secondary institutions and community partners supporting the Consortium's values can discuss, develop and implement prevention and response strategies to end sexual and interpersonal violence on New Hampshire's campuses.

With a focus on best practices and promising approaches, the Consortium provides support for its members to enhance multiple aspects of their campus response to sexual violence and misconduct, including:

  • development of campus sexual assault policy and protocol for responding to sexual violence and misconduct
  • strengthening relationships between campuses and community-based partners such as crisis centers, law enforcement, and other Sexual Assault Resource Team (SART) members
  • coordination of trauma-informed services delivery engaging with campus and community based resources
  • improvement of existing prevention and training programs for campus communities
  • implementation of campus climate surveys to better understand the scope of sexual misconduct among its students and barriers to reporting to campus officials

In addition, the Consortium tracks and analyzes relevant state and federal laws with an impact on campus response and partners with other stakeholders on a state-wide level to identify and implement the most effective strategies to provide coordinated, collaborative, trauma-informed services under new and changing legal and cultural frameworks. Through the creation of RSA 188-H, the Consortium is represented on the Sexual Misconduct Task Force and is helping to create and implement a statewide campus climate survey in order to gather and make public comparable data on sexual misconduct.
