Pending Hospital Transactions

The Charitable Trusts Unit reviews acquisition transactions involving health care organizations in New Hampshire. Pursuant to RSA7:19-b, the organizations must file a notice together with relevant documents. The Director of Charitable Trusts may then make seek further information from the organizations. The notices, relevant documents and other information received relating to pending transactions will be posted on this page.

Littleton Regional Hospital Withdrawal North Country Healthcare

The Charitable Trusts Unit issued its report on September 20, 2019 objecting to the proposed withdrawal of Littleton Regional Hospital from North Country Healthcare Portable Document Format Symbol. It remains under review by the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau.

Exeter Hospital/Wentworth-Douglass Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital

On May 23, 2019, Exeter Health Resources (EHR) filed a Notice pursuant to RSA 7:19-b of a proposed acquisition transaction involving Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Under the proposal, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) will form a new New Hampshire organization (Partners Health System - PHS) which will become the "parent" of both Exeter Hospital (EH) and Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (WDH). RSA 7:19-b calls for the Director of Charitable Trusts to review the proposed transaction, with a report due by September 20, 2019.
