Family Members
The Office of Victim/Witness Assistance (OVWA) , in conjunction with the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit, is dedicated to serving families of unsolved homicides and for keeping them informed of any new developments in their case. OVWA advocates work collaboratively with the Cold Case detectives and prosecutor, to serve as the primary point of contact for co-victims and family members of unsolved homicides.
The OVWA was created legislatively in 1987, to provide 24-hour direct services and support in all of the state's homicide cases and to standardize services for victims of crime statewide through protocol and policy development and multidisciplinary professional training. The OVWA, within the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office, is committed to ensuring that all victims of crime in New Hampshire are treated with the dignity and respect that they deserve, recognizing that the criminal justice system can be confusing and frightening to those citizens who have been traumatized by crime.
If the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit does not already have a photograph of your loved one posted on the website, please contact the OVWA. The photograph can be either mailed or emailed. If mailed, the photo will be scanned and mailed back to the sender immediately. The photograph will be posted on the Cold Case Unit's website.
If you are a family member of a homicide victim and have questions concerning the Cold Case Unit, please contact the OVWA for assistance.
