New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte, Rockingham County Attorney James M. Reams, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Frederick H. Booth and Sandown Police Chief Joseph Gordon announce that an investigation is ongoing into the death of a woman in Sandown, New Hampshire.
On Thursday, June 26, 2008, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police received a report of a shooting in Sandown. The police eventually learned that four people who were friends with each other had been in an SUV in the driveway of a residence when an occupant of the SUV discharged a firearm, striking and killing another person in the vehicle. The victim of the shooting has been identified as Deidre A. Budzyna (age 20). The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on the deceased today and determined the cause of her death to be a single gunshot wound to the back and the manner of her death as homicide.
The exact nature of what took place last night is still being investigated by the New Hampshire State Police. However, all four of the individuals present during the incident have been located and identified. No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting, at this time.
