Suspicious Death in Berlin, New Hampshire

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella announces that members of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office are investigating a suspicious death in Berlin, New Hampshire.

On February 29, 2024, at approximately 10:30 PM the New Hampshire State Police and the Berlin Police Department responded to an apartment located at 1063 Main Street in Berlin.

Upon entering the location, officers discovered the body of a deceased female inside of the apartment. The deceased female has been identified as Caitlyn Naffziger (DOB: 3-10-1992).

As part of the investigation, authorities issued an Amber Alert asking for the public’s assistance in locating the following missing and endangered children:

Elowyn DUREN
Age: 4
3 feet
30 pounds
Blonde hair
Blue eyes

And

Vaelyn DUREN
Age: 1
Infant
20 pounds
Blonde hair
Blue eyes

Children were last seen in Berlin, NH on Thursday February 29, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m. with their biological father:

Age: 37
5’10”
180
Brown Hair
Brown eyes

DUREN was operating a 2017 Subaru Impreza 4 door color White with NH Veteran registration V69023.

If anyone observes Mr. DUREN, the children and or his vehicle, do not approach them and call 911 immediately as Mr. Duren possibly may be armed and dangerous.
