Victor Rivera Indictments

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella announces that Victor Rivera (age 48) has been indicted on multiple charges in connection with the shooting deaths of Patricia Swett (age 45) and Matthew Champagne (age 44) in Nashua, on September 29, 2023.

The Hillsborough County Grand Jury – Southern District has returned indictments charging Mr. Rivera with two counts of second-degree murder for knowingly causing the deaths of Ms. Swett and Mr. Champagne by shooting them. The Grand Jury also indicted Mr. Rivera on two alternative counts of second-degree murder for recklessly causing the deaths of Ms. Swett and Mr. Champagne, under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by shooting them.

Mr. Rivera is scheduled for a hearing on these charges at 9:00 a.m., on March 1, 2024, in the Hillsborough County Superior Court – Southern District.

The charges and allegations against Mr. Rivera are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
