Rumney Death Investigation

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert L. Quinn, and Rumney Police Chief William Main announce that Dr. Jennie Duval, the New Hampshire Deputy Medical Examiner, has completed an autopsy of the body of the male victim discovered near Stinson Lake in Rumney, New Hampshire on the evening of June 29, 2014. The victim has been identified as Dr. David Landseadel, age 48, who lived in Rumney. The cause of Dr. Landseadel's death was a single gunshot wound to the head. The manner of his death has been ruled a homicide.

The investigation thus far has revealed that the victim's death arose from an altercation he had with another adult male individual who was known to him. The circumstances surrounding this altercation, and any prior contacts between the victim and the other male are the subject of the ongoing investigation. No arrest has been made.
