Autopsy of Noah York

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, State Police Colonel Robert L. Quinn and Somersworth Police Chief Dean Crombie announce that an autopsy was completed Saturday on the body of two-year-old Noah York. Chief Medical Examiner Doctor Thomas A. Andrew determined that the cause of the child's death was smothering. The manner of his death was homicide.

Noah was found in distress was emergency personnel and the Somersworth police responded to a 911 call that was placed from apartment #2, 231 High Street in Somersworth. That child was transported to the Wentworth Douglas Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Jared Pope (age 30) of Somersworth, New Hampshire has been arrested and charged with Manslaughter for causing the child's death. Mr. Pope is expected to be arraigned on the Manslaughter charge on Monday, June 17, 2013, in the 7th Circuit Court - District Division, in Dover, New Hampshire.

The circumstances surrounding the homicide remain under investigation.
