New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert C. Quinn, and Littleton Police Chief Paul Smith announce that an arrest has been made in connection with the murder of Dr. Catherine "Kitty" Houghton (70) at the Hampton Inn, in Littleton, NH, last night. Rodney Hill (37) of West Danville, Vermont, was arrested and charged with two counts of Second Degree Murder this morning for knowingly and/or recklessly causing the death of Dr. Houghton by stabbing her in the neck and torso.
The homicide investigation began last night when the Littleton Police responded to an emergency call at the Hampton Inn at approximately 8:50 pm. After police arrived, they encountered Rodney Hill outside the hotel. He was taken into custody. The police then entered the hotel and found Dr. Houghton inside with multiple stab wounds. She was transported to Littleton Regional Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. An autopsy will be conducted on her body later today in Concord at the Chief Medical Examiner's Office.
It is expected that Mr. Hill will be arraigned on the murder charges at the Littleton District Court at 1:00 pm today.
