Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert Quinn, and Salem Police Chief Paul Donovan announce that autopsies were conducted on the bodies of three adults found deceased at a residence in Salem, New Hampshire on July 31, 2012. Autopsies were conducted on Jeffrey Kaznecki (age 50), Barbara Kaznecki (age 51), and Shirley Leary (age 85). The cause of Mrs. Kaznecki's and Ms. Leary's deaths were determined to be gunshot wounds to the head, and the manner of their deaths have been classified as homicides. The cause of Mr. Kaznecki's death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of his death has been classified as a suicide.
Based on the investigation conducted to date, it appears that Mr. Kaznecki shot and killed his wife, Mrs. Kaznecki, and his mother, Ms. Leary, and then took his own life. The investigation is ongoing.
