Connie Stratton, Senior Assistant Attorney General
Consumer Protection & Antitrust Bureau
Attorney General Michael A. Delaney announced today that his office has been contacted by the management of the Radisson Hotel, 700 Elm Street, Manchester, NH and was advised that the Women's Expo being advertised as "For Us Women's Expo" is not, in fact, scheduled to be held at its facility.
Attorney General Delaney said that the event is being advertised on the Internet and allegedly is to take place on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the Radisson. Booth rentals are being advertised for $565 and $1,000 and tickets are being sold for between $6.00 and $10.00.
The Consumer Protection Bureau is alerting consumers who might be considering booth rentals or attendance at this expo that, based on the information received from the management of the Radisson Hotel, no such event is taking place there. The Department of Justice is attempting to identify the individual(s) responsible for the online advertisement to investigate the matter. Anyone with information regarding the "For Us Women's Expo" is encouraged to contact the Department of Justice.
Consumers may obtain information about consumer protection issues, or report consumer complaints, on the Consumer Protection Bureau's website at www.doj.nh.gov/consumer/index.
