Conviction of Karen Gagne

New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney announces that after an eight-day jury trial, Karen Gagne was convicted of nine felony counts of theft by unauthorized taking and two felony counts of theft by misapplication in the Merrimack County Superior Court. Gagne was convicted for stealing from Jane Fair between 2007 and 2009. Gagne was convicted of taking more than $513,000 of Fair's assets, savings, certificates of deposit, and income to pay for her own debts and to finance her lifestyle.

Following the verdict, the Superior Court amended Gagne's bail status and ordered her held pending the posting of $20,000 cash or corporate surety bail. Gagne's sentencing will be scheduled for a later date following the completion of a pre-sentence investigation report.
