New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, State Police Colonel Robert L. Quinn, and Weare Police Chief Gregg Begin, announce that Deputy Chief Medical Examiner, Jennie Duval, has completed the autopsies of the individuals found dead in Weare on Sunday from an apparent murder suicide. The individuals are now being identified as Jacob Geiser, 18, and Cheryl Maher, 41, both of 1724 River Road, Weare, NH.
Dr. Duval has determined that Jacob Geiser died from a single gunshot wound to the head, and has ruled his death a suicide. Dr. Duval has determined that Cheryl Maher was strangled and suffered a secondary stab wound to the neck, as well as blunt force trauma to the head. The manner of her death was ruled a homicide.
Cheryl Maher had been living at the River Road address for approximately three months with her boyfriend, Joseph Geiser, who is Jacob's father. The investigation has determined that Jacob killed Cheryl before committing the home invasion on Concord Stage Road on Sunday morning.
The investigation remains ongoing.
