New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert Quinn and Charlestown Police Chief Edward C. Smith announce that an investigation is ongoing into two deaths in Charlestown, New Hampshire.
On Thursday, August 19, 2010, at approximately 4:47 a.m., Charlestown police officers responded to a 911 call from a single family home in Charlestown. When the police arrived they discovered the two adult residents deceased at their home. The identity of those residents is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Although the investigation is still in the early stages, the evidence gathered to date indicates that the deaths are likely the result of a murder-suicide, domestic violence incident.
Autopsies will be performed on both parties tomorrow by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine their cause and manner of death.
The investigation is still ongoing.
