State v. Karen Gagne
Sanbornton Woman Arrested for Stealing from Resident of Retirement Home

Attorney General Michael A. Delaney announces that Karen Gagne, age 55, of Sanbornton, has been arrested for allegedly stealing over $23,000 from an elderly resident of the Pleasant View Retirement home in Concord. Gagne, a friend of the victim, allegedly took the money in March of 2009 from a Citizen's Bank account belonging to the victim and used the money for her own purposes.

Gagne was released on personal recognizance bail and ordered to have no contact with the victim. She will be arraigned in Concord District Court on May 4, 2010. The case is being prosecuted by the Medicaid Fraud and Resident Abuse Unit of the Attorney General's Office, which investigates allegations of healthcare provider fraud and the financial exploitation and physical abuse of long-term care residents.
