New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Frederick H. Booth, and Somersworth Police Chief Dean Crombie, announce that the death of Chantrea Nou, a 4 month-old infant, is under investigation in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Authorities responded on Monday night to a call for medical assistance for an infant 95 Main Street, Apartment 3, Somersworth, New Hampshire, at approximately 9:30 pm. The baby was transported to Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH and then to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Chantrea Nou, died last night at Maine Medical Center as a result of her injuries.
An autopsy was performed today by Deputy Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maine, Marguerite DeWitt, in Augusta, Maine. The results of this autopsy are pending further tests, which should be completed early next week.
The New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit, the Somersworth Police Department, and the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office continue to investigate the circumstances of Chantrea Nou's death.
