Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Frederick Booth and Chief Russell Ux of the Hollis Police Department report that they are currently investigating a homicide in Hollis, New Hampshire.
On Friday, September 25, 2009, at approximately 3:48 p.m., the Hollis Police Department was advised of a potential homicide at 458 Silver Lake Road in Hollis. Officers were dispatched to the residence where they located a deceased female inside the residence, later identified as Phyllis Marchand (age 45).
Based on information developed in the investigation to date, the victim's husband, Gary Marchand (age 53) has been arrested and charged with alternative counts of second-degree murder for causing the death of Phyllis Marchand. Mr. Marchand will likely be arraigned on Monday, September 28, 2009, at the Nashua District Court.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is expected to complete an autopsy on the victim soon in order to determine her cause and manner of death.
