Manchester Homicide

Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte and Manchester Police Chief David Mara report that 51 year old Gary Roy has been arrested for murdering 50 year old Arlene Lopata-Houle in Manchester during the evening hours of April 24, 2009.

Emergency personnel responded to 624 Rimmon Street in Manchester at approximately 5:52 a.m. on April 25, 2009, after receiving a report that there was a deceased woman at that location who had been killed by another individual. Police discovered the body of Arlene Lopata-Houle inside Gary Roy's second floor apartment. Police investigation has revealed that Gary Roy killed Lopata-Houle the previous evening. Roy has been charged with second degree murder for knowingly killing Arlene Lopata-Houle.

An autopsy has been scheduled for April 26, 2009. It is anticipated that Roy will be arraigned in Manchester District Court on April 27, 2009.
