Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte and Manchester Police Chief David Mara report that Timothy King (DOB 1/6/87) of 168 Valley Street has died at Massachusetts General Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in a beating in the early morning hours of October 11, 2008 at that address. Edith Riley (DOB 4/24/73), also of 168 Valley Street, was killed during the same incident.

An autopsy will be conducted this afternoon on Mr. King's body, at the medical examiner's office in Massachusetts.

Todd Peters (DOB 8/1/73) of Weare, New Hampshire was arrested and charged with second degree murder for the death of Edith Riley and first degree assault for the beating of Timothy King. Mr. Peters was arraigned in the Manchester District Court on those charges on Tuesday, October 14, 2008. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for October 28, 2008 at 8:15 a.m. at the Manchester District Court. It is anticipated that the charge related to the assault against Mr. King will be upgraded.
