Suspicious Death Investigation in Dover, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte and Dover Police Chief Anthony F. Colarusso, Jr. announce that an investigation is ongoing into the death of a man in Dover, New Hampshire on October 20, 2008.

On Saturday, October 18, 2008, at approximately 11:45 pm, police received a report of an altercation in front of 563 Central Avenue. Upon further investigation, the police learned that the altercation involved four individuals, including Richard Nolette, age 42, a resident at that address.

On Sunday, October 19, 2008, at approximately 5:40 pm, Dover Fire Department personnel responded to 563 Central Avenue for a report of a male resident who was not responsive. That individual was identified as Richard Nolette. He was, subsequently, transported to Wentworth Douglass Hospital. Mr. Nolette died at the hospital on October 20, 2008.

Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Jennie Duval completed an autopsy on the deceased today and determined the cause of his death to be from blunt impact head injuries. Dr. Duval will conduct further tests as part of this on-going investigation.

The exact nature of what took place during the altercation on October 18, 2008 is still being investigated by the Dover Police. However, all the individuals present during the incident have been identified. At this time, no one has been arrested in connection with the altercation.
