Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte and Colonel Frederick Booth of the New Hampshire State Police announce that Darrell Brinkley, 53 years old, of Antrim, New Hampshire pled guilty in the Merrimack Superior Court to one count of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault, one count of Felonious Sexual Assault, one count of Simple Assault, Extended Term, and one count of indecent exposure.
Brinkley admitted to committing sexual and physical assaults and an indecent act against female inmates who were patients at the Secure Psychiatric Unit of the New Hampshire State Prison. Brinkley admitted to committing these acts while he was acting as a corrections officer supervising the women. Judge Conboy sentenced him to serve thirteen to twenty-six years in the New Hampshire State Prison. Brinkley also received suspended sentences of two to five years in the New Hampshire State Prison and twelve months in the House of Corrections.
These charges result from a lengthy investigation by the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit.
