New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte and Nashua Police Chief Donald Conley, announce that an investigation is ongoing concerning a motor vehicle collision that occurred early this morning on Elm Street in Nashua, New Hampshire. Prior to the collision, the operator of the motor vehicle was involved in an altercation with several pedestrians in the City Hall Parking Lot. After this altercation, Ivonne Hernandez, 43, of Nashua, New Hampshire drove her vehicle through the parking lot of Maynard & Lesieur, striking two of the pedestrians. One of the pedestrians sustained minor injuries. The second pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries. This individual is in critical condition at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts.
Hernandez was arrested at the scene on one count of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and two counts of Reckless Conduct, all Class B Felonies. Arraignment on those charges has been scheduled for Monday morning, May 5, 2008, at the Nashua District Court.
The Nashua Police Department and the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office continue to investigate the case.
