New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Frederick H. Booth, and Laconia Police Chief Michael Moyer, announce that Daryll Bifano (DOB 1/23/1971) has been arrested on one count of Second Degree Murder for recklessly causing the death of Stephen Grodske (DOB 1/20/1948) under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life.

Laconia Police Department received a 911 call at approximately 8:48 p.m. on January 6, 2008, from a neighbor of Stephen Grodske reporting that he was unresponsive. When Laconia police officers and paramedics responded to 59 Weirs Blvd., Unit #2, shortly after the 911 call, they found Mr. Grodske deceased in his home. It appeared that he had been assaulted. Daryll Bifano was arrested at approximately 10:00 a.m. on January 7, 2008, at the Laconia Police Department. An arraignment is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Laconia District Court.

The New Hampshire State Police and the Laconia Police Department continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the homicide. The New Hampshire Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. A press release will be issued after the autopsy has been concluded.
