Raymond Police responded to 15 Regina Avenue, on November 23, 1993. When the police arrived at the home they found Chelsea Crane, age 2, with a head injury. Chelsea was in the care of Scott Mayo, the boyfriend of Chelsea's mother, Sharon Crane. Chelsea was treated at the hospital and released. On November 28, 1993 Chelsea's mother put her to bed. When her mother checked on her later that night, Chelsea was unresponsive. An ambulance was summoned and Chelsea was declared dead at the hospital. An autopsy revealed that Chelsea died as a result of multiple impacts to the head. The medical examiner ruled her death a homicide.
